Posters from the Torun University Library Graphics Collection in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Digital Library

The collection contains posters originating from the graphic art collection from the library at the University of Torun.

These unique posters have been collected for many years and originate mostly from the legal deposit, personal donations and specific purchases.

The oldest posters are from the end of the 1940s (20th century) including propaganda works by the author Tadeusz Trepkowski one of the creators of the Polish School of Posters . Other posters originate from the 1950s and the 1990s (20th century).

The subject matter of the collection is diverse. There are political propaganda, agitational, commemorative and exhibitional posters, as well as posters from film, theatre, music, and advertisments.

Among the many creators (over 500 surnames) owned by the Library include famous names such as Stasys Eidrigevicius, Jerzy Flisak, Eugeniusz Get – Stankiewicz, Adam Kilian, Piotr Kunce, Jan Lenica, Eryk Lipiński, Jan Młodożeniec, Jan Sawka, Franciszek Starowieyski, Ewa i Wiesław Strebejko, Waldemar Świerzy, Bronisław Zelek, Leszek Żebrowski and many others.
